During an exclusive interview by Sina on the morning of September 9, Yang Zaiping, Executive Vice President of CBA commented on the dramatic changes taken place in China¡¯s banking sector over the past thirty years.

As Yang Zaiping described, the China¡¯s banking sector had been ¡°reborn¡± after thirty years of reforms and opening up. In his words, ¡°rebirth, safety and efficiency-boosting¡± are the key words for what reforms and opening up have brought into China¡¯s banking sector. China¡¯s banking sector is facing opportunities and challenges at the same time, and Chinese financial institutions can only survive in a more competitive, more globalized and more market-oriented environment through continuously improving their competitiveness.
