Seventh General Assembly of CBA Held in Beijing
 

The seventh General Assembly of China Banking Association was held in Beijing on December 12. Representatives of 108 full members and associate members attended the conference chaired by Liu Zhangjun, Executive Vice President of CBA. Wang Huaqing, Commissioner of Discipline Inspector of CBRC also attended the conference and delivered a speech.

Several proposals were adopted at the conference, including the Report on China Banking Association¡¯s Work of 2007, and the Association¡¯s budget. Yang Zaiping was elected new Executive Vice President of the Association.

Wang Huaqing emphasized that China Banking Association shall become an important platform for the healthy development of China¡¯s banking industry. CBA is a communication bridge between the government, the public and the industry. Since its establishment, CBA has played an effective role in self-regulation, rights-protection, reconciliation and services under the guidance of CBRC and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and has made plausible achievements. Along with the furthering of the industry¡¯s reforms, opening up and development, the Association shall grow stronger and shoulder more responsibilities.

Wang also noted that, China Banking Association shall focus its work on the demands of its members. Meanwhile, regulatory institutions at all levels shall strengthen their guidance and supervision over CBA and provide as mush as support and assistance to the Association.
