Liu Zhangjun Attended the 14th Board Meeting of IBFed
 

Liu Zhangjun, Executive Vice President of CBA, attended the 14th Board Meeting of the International Banking Federation (IBFed) held in London on October 8 and 9, 2007. Attendance of the meeting also includes the Australian Bankers Association, the American Bankers Association, the British Bankers Association, the European Banking Federation, the Japanese Bankers Association, the French Banking Federation, the Swiss Bankers Association and the Indian Banks Association.

Agenda of the meeting covered implementation of the BASEL II and the international accounting rules, collaborated fight against money laundry, as well as prevention and solution to liquidity crisis, etc.. Liu Zhangjun introduced China¡¯s current situation in the afore-mentioned fields and hoped for more opportunities to strengthen communications and learn form international experience.

The associate membership of China Banking Association and Indian Banks Association has also been discussed in the meeting. IBFed Board members unanimously agreed upon CBA and IBA¡¯s joining the IBFed as associate members. Liu Zhangjun expressed that CBA will prepare itself and join the IBFed after approval of the Executive Board.

As arranged by the IBFed, delegates paid visits to FSA, the British Parliament, the European Parliament, the European Commission£¬and HSBC headquarters as well.
