Certification Committee for Banking Professionals was established to improve the overall quality of Chinese banking professionals and regulate management of baking professionals.

The Committee was set up on June 6, 2006. Mr. Liu Mingkang, Chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission was elected Director of the Committee.

The Committee shall fulfill the following duties:
• Formulate a certification system for Chinese banking professionals, promote qualification standards and regulations for banking professionals as well as provide supports for management of banking professionals;
• Set basic principles for the certification system of banking professionals, draw up plans for the system and carry out researches to improve certification standards for banking professionals and related systems;
• Organize certification examinations for banking professionals, review their certification and manage certificates issued to Chinese banking professionals;
• Promote continuing education after issuing of certificates to banking professionals.
