Self-Regulation Committee was established on March 23, 2006. Ms.
Wang Lili, Vice President of ICBC, was elected Director of the
Committee.
The Committee focuses on safeguarding a fair market environment
for competition, improving banking services and overall quality
of banking employees, promoting construction of a credit system
in the banking industry and promoting cooperation among financial
institutions.
The Self-Regulation Committee exercises the following duties:
• Organize the signing of self-regulatory agreements and
rules of implementation, and set up a review and disclosure system;
• Formulate industry standards and regulations and monitor
their implementation by members in order to improve banking services;
• Set up a faith system and credit information system of
financial institutions and employees, and strengthen supervision
in order to promote construction of credit system;
• Formulate codes of ethics and codes of conduct for banking
employees and implement self regulation over banking employees;
• Deal with complaints from members and the general public,
take necessary self-regulatory measures, and urge members to
operate in accordance with related regulations and rules so
as to safeguard a fair market environment for competition.
