As stipulated
in the Articles of the Association, all national or foreign banking
institutions that are approved by CBRC with the status of independent
legal person and recognize the Articles of China Banking Association
may apply for membership of the Association; all banking associations
at the provincial level (including autonomous regions and municipalities
directly under the Central Government) approved by regulatory
institutions and registered at Ministry of Civil Affairs may apply
for associate membership of the Association.
CBA now has 81 full members, including policy banks,
the 'Big Four' banks, joint stock commercial banks, city commercial
banks, asset management companies, China Government Security Depository
Trust & Clearing Company, China Post Savings and Remittance
Bureau, rural commercial banks, rural cooperatives, rural credit unions and locally registered foreign banks, as well as 37 associate members, including banking associations
in various provinces (including autonomous regions and municipalities
directly under the Central Government).
