Guo Shuqing (1956), Vice President
of China Banking Association (CBA); Chairman of China Construction
Bank (CCB).
Guo Shuqing studied in the philosophy department of Nankai
University and the graduate school of Chinese Academy of
Social Sciences from March of 1978 to March of 1985. He
was an assistant researcher of the Chinese Academy of Social
Sciences from March of 1985 to February of 1988, and at
the same time he read for J. D. degree, and went to University
of Oxford as a visiting scholar during this period. He was
appointed deputy director of the Economic Research Center
of State Planning Commission, director of the Comprehensive
Planning and Pilot Department of State Commission for Restructuring
Economy and director of the Macro Control Department of
State Commission for Restructuring Economy successively
from July of 1988 to March of 1996. He served as the secretary
of State Commission for Restructuring Economy from March
of 1996 to March of 1998 and the member of Office for Economic
Restructuring of the State Council. In July of 1998, Guo
Shuqing was elected as Deputy Governor of Guizhou Province
at the third session of the People¡¯s Congress of Guizhou
Province. In March of 2001, he became Deputy Governor of
the People¡¯s Bank of China and Director of the State Administration
Foreign Exchange. And in December of 2003, he was elected
as Chairman of the Central Huijing Investment Company.
